Limit: 1 Skins drapped over his heavy frame and coated with frost kept the gale winds at bay as he walked the snow covered ground. His big goremaul with it's hearthstone added much needed warmth to his body as he made his trek. There were rumors of dark things near the Tear eater tribes, terrible things, and he would see them brought low. He knew not what he would face but he did know he had been given gifts and powers that he would not squander in waiting or watching. Neither would he join the Bull in his power gathering. The Unconquered Sun had chosen him to be a giver of law to the lawless and Bulwark against the encroaching darkness. He would not fail. Neither man, nor beast, nor undead would stop him...or so he believed. He walked until even he needed to seek shelter from the blizzard. He looked through the slit in his skins that covered his face and found a large tree then with all of his strength he pushed against it. The sunburst on his forehead shone with blinding light beneath the head wraps and the air around him shimmered and the tree began to fall. He pulled branches from the fallen tree and interwove them until he made a passable side. He pooped it against the upturned roots and crawled inside like a great bear. The wind was demolished the cold lessens by a degree or two and he rested against the side of the hole he had made. It wasn't perfect by any definition of the word but it was sufficient under the sun to suit his needs. He would wait out the storm, then search out the darkness and destroy it.

One's work took her to such exciting and busy places if she was content enough to let it! And Mokoto-of-Names was absolutely willing to let her work take her to new and exciting places - this was one of the many things she could be accused of and agree to without any manner of falsehood. She walked the width and breadth of Creation, sometimes on official business, almost always in an official capacity, and often towards her own agenda under the guise of the former two things. Yes, Creation was absolutely filled with exciting things to do and amazing things to see! Today wasn't one of the days where she got to see new and exciting things. Today was the day she trekked her happy ass through a blizzard looking for a wayward barbarian, because her more barbaric 'associate' was 'busy' pretending to do 'work'. She might have known Crowarethan Stonehands by his work, if she'd bothered to think more of it - but she pointedly did not think much of it. There was something to be said for serviceable shelter, but not much to be said for a tasteless but serviceable shelter. It was hardly even hidden except by the blizzard it was made to protect from, and what sort of secret hideout was that? "Hello~?" The green-haired 'young' woman called out as she approached the lean-to, slogging her slight frame through the snow with some difficulty. Her tone indicated the pleasant succor of a cheerful and friendly neighbor stopping by to exchange gossip and possibly ask for a cup of rice to top off her oh-so-wonderful casserole, her body language was more of the same. As if she weren't in a deadly storm asking to share space with a caveman possessing a shard of divinity from the dawn of time. "Excuse me, could you move over a tad? It's terribly cold out here, sir - and I've warm tea to share~!" Her Skytongue, which Moko took some pride in, was flawless.

He looked up quickly from his diner of dried meat and goat cheese as he heard a voice over the sound of the blizzard that had built a lovely layer of insulation over his lean-to. His first thought was he had imagined a woman's voice simply out of lack of company. His next thought was it was some dread creature's trick.
He gripped his goremaul and held it poised to strike as he looked out from beneath his heavy lined brow and out the small makeshift door. The being with a woman's form moved and spoke in an easy manner and spoke like an Icewalker but if she was of his people then he was a a royal gentleman in the court of a king.
He stared openly for a moment noting the last time he had seen a woman was when a young Solar had explained what he had become. It was hard to remember his manners then and equally so now. At his realization and the woman's command to move aside he flushed and retreated to the opposite side of the small shelter.
He rested himself on the balls of his feet and squared still wary and embarrassed over his lack of discretion. He didn't wait for her to speak again though he wanted to. He still clutched the heavy goremaul absentmindedly as he kept his eyes on the girl/woman/possible spirit creature.
"Are you lost, good woman?" he asked still wondering whether or not she was some undead trickster.

"That depends on who you ask, my friend!" The green-haired woman chirped as she sank down with a relieved sigh, rubbing her hands together to warm them once she'd peeled her mittens off. Upon closer inspection, she wasn't so much a young woman as she was in some nebulous area between teenaged and middle aged - the poofy coat and mittens made her look younger than she was, and the fact that she was comparatively tiny (like most other Eastern women, going from the colour of her hair) didn't help the illusion. "But if you intend to made sure I came here deliberately and of my own power, I can assure you that I absolutely did."
She crouched down on the balls of her feet and fished around in her jacket, producing a small metal cylinder. From either side of it came a pair of simple cups. A plug allowed her to pour steaming, hot tea of some exotic sort into the cups. "Here. A little something to brace us against the cold?" She offered cheerfully, canting her head to one side as she offered Crow either of the cups as a show of faith.
"My name is Mokoto - might I have the honor of your name, my friend?" She asked once the matter of tea was settled, sipping from her own mug with an almost playful shine in her purple eyes.

His unwavering eyes remained on the woman's as he watched her calm care free movements. The mittens removed, rubbing away the cold and her ease of manner. It all suggested they were long time companions meeting for breakfast and Crowarethan was dumbfounded. His mind twisted and turned the situation as best it could but every conclusion was this woman had sought him out and found him in the middle of no where.
"Thank you." he said his gruff voice a near growl at the lowered volume. The small cup even smaller beside his thick weathered fingers but it was hot and he would have taken a thimble if it warmed the bones.
'Mokoto' he mouthed causing his full beard to move with the syllables as he repeated the woman's name. This was all very odd but two bodies produced more heat than one, she had tea, and she was not hard on the eyes at all. He let his grip loosen on the grand goremaul and set the haft down quietly.
"Stonehands." he said in answer to the request of his name, "Crowarethan Stonehands of the kneeling rocks tribe."
He opened his small satchel of dried meat, goat cheese and now frozen mushrooms and gestured for her to take what she wanted. She offered tea, he was required to offer an equal gift or seem unappreciative. If he had nothing to offer he would have been shamed.
"Eat please." he said in his native sky-tongue. "Why did you come here... Mokoto?"

"Because you are a new person, warrior of the Kneeling Rocks Tribe." Mokoto explained with a warm smile, setting her thermos down between them in case he wanted to refill his thimble. He'd likely soon find an improbable amount of sweet jasmine tea in that thermos before too long. "A chosen of the Sun - and the world is much more dangerous for you, now. It would be a pity if you were not to be prepared for these dangerous."
"And, more importantly, to inform you that you are not without friends." Mokoto added. She tilted her head to one side, before perching her cup between her knees and helping herself to a pinch of dried meat. "...among which I count myself, for the record." The green-haired woman added with a quiet chuckle, dipping the dried meat in her tea to hydrate and warm it a bit before popping it thoughtfully into her mouth. Not bad - a bit sweeter than she usually liked, but better than frozen jerky by a longshot. "Tell me, you should have been approached by a young beauty with golden bracelets and hair not long ago - what did she tell you?" Mokoto asked curiously, leaning forward to study Crow's expression and words with engaged, bright purple eyes.

He watched her calmly despite his earlier tension. She was engaging and had a sweetness of manner that he was unaccustomed to. He watched her take the meat as she spoke and then watched her eat. She was, in fact, had for him to not look at.
He leaned back and flopped onto the cold ground then crossed his tree trunk legs. His knees used to ache when he sat this way but not anymore. He lifted the outer layer of his heavy skins over his head to sit in his hand made tunic as she asked about the tempting blond woman, too tempting, much like the green haired lady before him.
"She told me I was chosen of the Sun and We are called Lawgiver's." he said as he refilled his cup and sipped more of the aromatic sweet tea. "She also spoke of licking the Unconquered Sun but I can not think that wise."
He pushed his hair back and smoothed his beard. Then focused enough to make the sunburst on his brow glitter. "she showed me how to do this as well but little else."
He looked at the ground and sipped his tea to keep from staring at the woman's lovely face and exotic hair. He was not used to being sought out by pretty women so often...or at all for that matter. He had no idea what to do.

"I see, I see!" Mokoto mused cheerfully, helping herself to another cup of tea. If she noticed the burly Northman's staring, she gave no indication of it. If she was at all uncomfortable sitting on the ground in a hastily constructed lean-to with said burly stranger in the middle of a fatally cruel blizzard, she gave no indication of that, either. "Well. I have to say that your instincts are sharp - I recommend against licking the Unconquered Sun." She agreed with a sly smirk.
Icewalkers tended not to write things down. And, in her experience, their oral history only extended as far as notable things they'd eaten, or notable people they'd killed. Which meant it was story time! This was acceptable, she did so like to talk. Mokoto set her cup of tea between her crossed legs, mimicking Crow's seating arrangement, and set her hands on her knees. "Long ago, Creation was made - and ruled over - vast, powerful, and cruel beings called the Primordials." She explained, taking the cadence of one accustomed to telling stories - even and emotive, comfortable, almost melodious. "Although they made everything from the smallest insect to the tallest mountain, they had little interest in ruling over what they'd created, so they created and tasked powerful Gods to handle this, called the Incarnae."
Mokoto raised her right hand into a gently-clasped fist. "First among them was Sol Invictus, the radiant and Unconquered Sun that brings us warmth and life. It was his province to rule over the others, for his domain and purview was excellence and valor itself." Her left hand formed an open palm, curved gently into a crescent. "Beside him was Luna, the beautiful and ever-changing Moon. It was she that offered respite from the days, and brought rest and comfort - but it also the moon's light that guides the fiercest predators of Creation as they prowl, from the sly snakes to the most clever assassins." The green haired woman explained, before opening both her hands and waving her fingers in an arcane arc. "After came the five maidens, who maintained everything between the Sun and Moon - from birth to death, love and wisdom, and so on. And it was the task of the Incarnae to govern the spirits and gods that kept Creation functioning."
"The Incarnae watched over all, but were discontent with the rule of the Primordials above - who were callous and brutish, who destroyed the things they loved for little cause and cared nothing for the lives of the mortals they extinguished in massive droves. But the Incarnae were unable to raise a hand against their creators, they needed a plan." Mokoto took a breath and smiled warmly, resting her hands. "The Unconquered Sun took shards of his greatness, and gifted them to mortal men and women who met his standards of greatness - heroes, champions, and the like. These became the first Solar Exalted, and these people carried a divine power within them to shape destiny as they saw fit. One of these shards of greatness has found you worthy of being such a champion, and lifted you from mortality to become what you are now; a Lawgiver, able to defy fate and shape Creation as one of it's rulers."
"With the help of mightly Sol Invictus, the other Incarnae created Exalted of their own - those that endured hardship, who protected others, who were fit to walk the wild places of Creation, Luna bestowed a measure of her own power. These are the Lunar Exalted, intended to rule beside the Solar as the Moon shares the sky with the Sun. And each of the Five Maidens uplifted a small measure of mortals to assist them in their duties to keep Creation functioning as it should, and advise the Solar Exalted with their wisdom and foresight. These are the Sidereal Exalted, and I am among their number." Mokoto explained with a small, almost-proud, mostly-modest smile, resting her hand over her heart gently.
"Finally, Gaia, one of the Primordials that cared for Creation and did not destroy wontonly, created the five elemental dragons, which keep Creation stable and whole - Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Wood. These dragons created Exalted of their own - the Terrestrial exalted, or Dragon-Blooded, who are not chosen, but born. Though less powerful than the Celestial Exalted, they were great in number, and served as the generals and consorts of the Solar Exalted." She explained - although most everyone knew what the Terrestrial Exalted were.
"The Celestial and Terrestrial Exalted were not bound by the rules of their creators, the Incarnae, and sought to overthrow the Primordials that so oppressed Creation." Mokoto explained, leaning forward slightly. "There was a horrific war, the likes of which Creation itself could not again withstand. Time and thought became weapons, reality itself hung in the balance, and the fate of all things was horrifically twisted beyond reason and thought. After countless casualties and years without number filled with constant battle, the Exalted prevailed - they banished the destructive Primordials from their home, and thus entered a golden age of prosperity and wealth we now know as the First Age, where Creation was ruled over by the Solar Exalted, and guided by the benevolent Incarnae."

He stared blankly at the green haired woman for a moment, the sidereal exalted. Then with all the grace of mind at his command he did the only thing that made sense in that moment, he blinked. Rulers, sharing the power of the Sun, lunar exalted to rule with solars, five maidens with sidereals? This was getting complicated. He was an old man, it was simple. He scratched a life out of the frozen north lands, he fought beast and men alike for his tribes safety. Why did it have to be more complex? Why did his wife and children need to die at the hands of those beastmen?
He took a ragged breath at the thought of his slain family. He had done his best to push them from his thoughts, to bury himself in a sense of duty, but it was getting harder by the day. Now from no where he is approached by not one but two separate strangers declaring things that were nothing more than children's bed time tales weeks before. His hard eyes closed and he rubbed them with his thumb and forefinger of a heavy calloused hand. Among his own people he would have been a respectable elder, but now, sitting across from a girl less than half his mass he felt more like a scared child in a world that just got too big.
A sigh escaped his lips as he longed to seat his children on his knee and hold his life-mate in his arms with foreheads together as the sun set over the mountains as they had often done. It was gone now he was blessed with power and cursed with solitude in the same stroke.
"I..." he began before choking on the rest of his sentence and shaking his now lowered head. His golden brown hair hanging like a mane over his broad shoulders and face. "What is it you want of me, lass?" he said his voice like stones falling down a mountain. His sadness swallowed and formed into another cold knot in his chest. "Why not let me wander? What is in this visit for you?" No low lander gave with one hand without holding the other to receive. He was no great mind but he had experience of life and sometimes that made the difference.

Mokoto sat upright, with her hands folded together between her thighs for warmth. "I want nothing of you." She explained simply, before adding to that statement with a slightly crooked smile. "It is my inherent task to advise the Solar Exalted. More directly, the world - your world - is much larger than it has ever been, and vastly more dangerous." The green haired woman emphasized, retwining her fingers around each other, head tilted to the side. "With all your wisdom and experience, Crowarethan Stonehands, would you allow an unarmed and naked man to walk out into this storm without so much as a word of warning that he surely went to his death?" She asked with a small smile.
"I see this as little different - although you may not have made a choice to walk out into the storm, you are nevertheless in it. And although I am sure you could survive for a time without so much as a word of caution or aid, perhaps my assistance may lengthen that time, or at least ease the burdens of an already weary soul." Mokoto took a small breath and spread her arms slightly, as if to indicate that she had nothing to hide. "Thus helping to fulfill my onus to you as a fellow Celestial Exalted, my inherent purpose as an adviser to your kind, and my all-around desire to help people who would otherwise have no other aid."
Mokoto delicately refilled her tea, and did so for Crow if his own cup lay within reach as if to say drink, it will help. "You are free to wander all you wish. You're a prince of the earth, now - stride the width and breadth of Creation as you see fit." She explained breezily, sipping her tea with apparently profound relish. "Perhaps you'll help stop some of the many threats to common people such as you were. Perhaps you'll uncover ancient treasures and knowledge, and bring them to light. Perhaps you'll become a leader of men, like Yurgen Kaenko, and help usher in a new age of prosperity! Perhaps you will do none of these things, or all of them and more."
She took a long sip and closed her eyes, savoring the sweet tea before speaking again. "Whatever you choose to do, whomever you decide to be, the decision rests in your hands. You have been given a new life, after all. And although I could talk more - I do so love the sound of my own voice, I fear - I'm interested in what you have to say." Mokoto set her cup aside and un-folded her legs, allowing them to rest side-by-side, pulled to her chest to conserve warmth. The sage who spoke of ancient things was gone, in her place was the bright-eyed and curious young woman who'd wandered in from a blizzard. "About anything, really. I am your delighted, captive audience. Share your troubles with me, my friend?"
