So much for benefiting anyone with his experience. He took a breath as he knelt in the snow and looked over his shoulder. He told himself the red in his cheeks was from the cold but the truth of it may have been different. He shook his clothes as he stood and rubbed his hands together before picking up his heavy hammer.
"I guess I should have thought about that more," he said in that deep gravely voice, "Sorry."
As genuine as he was serious he focused on the part of him that knew where he was. It wasn't easy but after a few moments of sifting through feelings and thoughts that could best be described as disorganized he walked 15 meters to the left to another mound and began to channel his essence. It didn't take long. It was at least one thing he had picked up quickly. In mere seconds the bright sunburst on his forehead began to glow and not long after the mound began to react.
He stepped back quickly as the snow and ice of the last thousand years began to shift, melt then disappear as steam die to some ancient thing deep below that some how was prepared for an eventuality such as this. He didn't know if his former self designed it but whoever did, they were very good at planning. The drawback however was it seemed to have used some of his own essence to complete it's task and he needed to take a few deep breaths before looking into the hole where the snow had been removed. There under the snow was a door and though the rest was not yet revealed, he was sure they would find a way to make it usable at the least before his trek to help the young queen began.
"I'll go first." he said looking back at the green haired lady, sunburst still glowing on his brow. "It seems my key still fits."
Was that humor? Who really knows with cave men.
