Name: Albrecht Delsix, Albrect-That-Was, Forgotten Soldier of the Last Standing Regiment
Age: Roughly 26 years
Exaltation/Caste: Infernal - Slayer Caste
Affiliations: Cult of the Giving Hand, Malfeas, The Reclaimation.
Character Sheet
Charm List & Descriptions
Summary:
Albrect would have been the lordling of a remarkably healthy settlement in the Wyld established by the Thousand Streams River project, if old things didn't have a habit of breaking. The shield that protected his father's kingdom failed briefly, allowing a great number of Fae to storm the barriers and begin harvesting souls. With a passing knowledge of how Fae - bound up in their stories - worked, Albrect challenged the leader of the attack to a duel for the fate of his people, with his life and blood as a prince as the stakes.
He lost. And fled into the Wyld before the General of the Fae could collect, to the howling laughter of the Fae army.
Although he'd been deemed unworthy for the Sun, other forces took notice. Albrect was offered a chance at true strength - albeit too late to save his people - and took it. Now serving Malfeas, he strives to be a living and walking reminder to the forces of Creation that there is always something bigger and badder than you are... after all, a queen ant and a common worker ant are both mere insects beneath the heel of a man, and all men are less than insects compared to the supreme being that is Malfeas. Why bother to believe in anything, why bother to try, when all it takes is a strong breeze to blow bad news into town and destroy everything you've ever worked for?
The only longevity lies in worship of the Yozi. Hail Malfeas, Hail Discordia.
Usage:
Albrect is an enforcer, and his flexible Urge allows him to be placed where Malfeas needs him to be. A combination of his artifacts and the warring voices in his head mean that he primarily acts as the silent and brooding companion to a stronger driving force. Much like his fel iron heart, Albrect only does things when he receives instructions to do so, or is acted upon by some external force. As such, he can be found serving any cause that furthers the Reclaimation efforts of the Yozi, or dismantling efforts that hinder the Reclaimation.
Although Albrect is well-equipped to handle a Celestial-Level opponent, his Past Lives 5 background - being that of Dian Yi, a woman who prided herself as an educator more than a general in the First Age - causes issues for him when fighting Solar Exalted. It isn't unheard of for Albrect to temporarily lose control of his body to Dian Yi - who is obstinately and eternally Lawful Good.
Although he is Appearance 5, Albrecht does not appear healthy to anyone with the slightest bit of genre awareness. His armor is golden, with a sickly sheen to it. His eyes are more bloodshot than sclera or iris, and his skin has an unnatural, almost porcelain sheen to it.
Combat Tactics:
Albrect is a soaking monster. His Malfean charms give him incredible longevity in a fight, especially when combined with his artifacts and Green Iron Heart. It is not uncommon for him to spend the first turn in combat activating Viridian Legend Exoskeleton if he has need to intimidate an opponent or thinks they may actually break his defense. Pathetic Distraction Rebuke, Albrect's Perfect Defense, only works on developed land - as such, he tries to avoid fighting in the wild when he has a choice in the matter.
Albrect's offense is much less formidable than his defense, relying on his Green Sun Nimbus Flare charms to overwhelm opponents. Albrect's Excellency only function when enforcing martial superiority, and are the primary supplement to his offense - like any good villain, shaking his confidence or finding some way to attack the spirit and then the flesh results in his attacks becoming much more clumsy.
It is worth noting that Albrecht's Dire Lance is meant to represent a Halberd, and functions mechanically in an identical fashion.
