Bio:
Quiet was day life began anew for an old warrior far enough past his prime that the mornings ached and the cold ate at his bones. Scars lay like patterns over the man's flesh, testament to a lifetime of service to a clan as much in decline as his old body. The cold winters had sapped their strength, and generations of conflicts consumed their numbers. Now they were barely settlement. Yet as quiet as the day had begun it was not to stay that way, the dogs of war were already moving on the last of the dying clan.
As they broke bread around a fire watching the few young remaining ready themselves for the day's chores the elders watched speaking softly to each other as bones were shaken and the barks of dogs heard in the background. It wasn't an odd thing to hear the dogs bark in the morning ready for the hunt, but it was the loudness of their bark that perked the ears of the elders. Their pack was small, and as the sound grew steadily louder its numbers far beyond their own. Even as the clan began to realize and react the sound of a horn echoing through the forest was heard.
There was no hope from the first moment and even as what was left of the warriors moved to grab weapons dozens of horns returned the first's call, they'd been surrounded. Caught unaware the packs of dogs hit first, their snapping jaws eagerly going after any prey. The warband burst through the trees hot on their heels their numbers overwhelming the last of the clan. Standing Akehga hobbled towards his clan's warriors, his broken body left warped from years of broken bones, and fighting him every step of the way. His weapon nearly too heavy for him to use, much less with the skills he once did, but he would swing it this last time. He would fight, and he would die, but he would go down with his hammer in his hands.
He didn't make it to his clansmen as they were swept up in a sea of teeth and enemy blades, but there were enemy aplenty in between. Charging he could feel the rage in his chest, those who would attack his had to be destroyed, and he would destroy them no matter what. He felt alive again, strong as he swung his war hammer. He felt stronger then he had in years, unhindered by the injuries he'd lost count of as he swung again and again crushing man and beast beneath his hammer.
It didn't matter how many he held though, his own clan had disappeared under waves of dogs the screams of the dying the only sound the at echoed in Akhega's ears. Yet the rage kept him moving forward, his mind completely filled with rage as he felt the thudding vibrations of each strike from his hammer. Then there were none within reach as they moved away from him. Making warding signs against powerful spirits they fled, the spoils of victory left behind as Akhega stood among a dead village, and the strength of yesterday still pulsing through him.
