Name: Xao shi-fün Ledaal
Age: 22
Exaltation/Caste:Dragon-blooded/Air aspect
Affiliations: House Ledaal
Bio:
The seventh of seven sons, Xao had to fight for even moderate recognition amongst his brothers. To gain his family's notice he devoted himself to martial arts and social skills since the age of 5 years. His eldest brother, Lui, became exalted before his birth and as a result was seen as the perfect son. Lui reminded his brothers of their place as often as possible and was well known among his peers as a violent person. Xao was reminded more than the rest, at least until he too became exalted.
Upon his entrance into puberty Xao became filled with the aspect of air and finally was seen as a deserving son. Lui, of course, was less than thrilled for it. The two clashed on many occasions and Xao almost always lost to the more experienced brother. However, he was not without his own methods. One night as his brother lay passed out from over drinking, Xao snuck into his brother's rooms and placed many stolen articles that belonged to their father then paid a servant to report the items to her master after cleaning.
As a result his brother was sent to the south of the realm as a soldier and negotiations began to we'd Xao to a young woman that would have been his brother's first choice. His partner was to be an intelligent young woman from the Hafren family.
The two were wed shortly after her graduation, and celebrated both by sailing to Cherak with his wife and brother-in-law older brother for a much-desired vacation before Xao would be sent to his first assignment in the East. At some point during the trip, their ship was beset by a Violent tentacled beast. The official reports say there were no survivors.
The truth, however, is not so clean cut. A wyld monster did beset the ship but, standing between the crew and family and the beast, Xao's brother-in-law was consumed by a demon Anathema and engaged the massive thing in deadly combat. The ship was all but destroyed in the process, the crew scattered and lost to the waves, and Coriah's brother on death's doorstep. Xao stood with blade in hand, ready to finish off the Anathama and earn all the accolades that came with it, but Coriah refused to believe her brother was forever lost to her as a demon. Coriah begged for her brother's life. Xao didn't particularly care about her biased opinion but he had developed an early affection for the woman and had spent many hours talking and debating with his favoured new relative. As he looked into the dying man's face he did not see demons eyes but that of a dying brother who had offered his life for his sister. Between that and not wanting to see his new bride suffer he could not slay the Anathema. Besides that a life time with an angry wife was not, not, not worth the renown.
They together had no real love for the Realm and saw a sudden chance to forge their own path. So, they left as soon as they could and made for the North and took positions in the military where they now reside.
