Bio:
Born to Sesus Vire and Tepet Yuno, Sesus Nischa began her life as any Dynastic child of fantastic breeding did: with the full expectation that she would Exalt. She was schooled and trained in all of the things expected of a Sesus legionnaire. She studied military tactics, the records of old battles, and a bit of political niceties and how to not make a fool of herself in court. Her mother gave her no more attention than any other un-Exalted individual, and Nischa didn't exactly develop much of an attachment to her. The lack of actual personal interaction rather prevented her from developing any kind of House solidarity.
Nischa felt the grace of the Elemental Dragon of Fire when she as twelve years old, during a prep school for the House of Bells. From that moment on, she felt a kind of attention from her mother that she'd never known before, but it was still far too late to make a difference. Her resentment had overwhelmed her, and the rift between them was too great for Nischa to allow it to be bridged. Things became even more complicated when her father entered the picture.
It is truly confounding how complete absence is more tolerable than simple neglect. Tepet Yuno found his daughter cold to him, but without any overt negativity. She didn't even seem to care that he had come on business; the Tepet Legions had been shattered in the North, and he was looking to pull in every possible resource to replenish his House's numbers. Despite (or perhaps because of) Sesus Vire's protests, Nischa accepted her father's offer, and Tepet Nischa graduated the House of Bells with honors just a few years later.
The newly-christened Tepet scion found herself immediately reassigned to the South, where her aunt Tepet Ejava was amassing power while on "pirate regulation" exercises. Nischa had always been an immense fan of the Roseblack, reading up on every single battle tactic she had used from the moment she started the House of Bells. She eagerly went to go join with her...and got lost somewhere around Paragon for two years! No one in the Realm seems to have even the barest idea of what happened during this time, and she claims she was traveling the southern threshold on a crusade of sorts.
Having joined her new general's forces, Tepet Nischa spent years fighting pirates, bandits, and other cutthroats in the southeast. She developed a camaraderie with the Vermillion not at all unlike her role model had, and after years of service, she was granted command of her own talon of troops and returned to the Blessed Isle to scout for threats on Ejava's life. Nishca is more than happy to pave the way for her idol to come back and heroically win the day.
Then, of course, the second she got home she was embroiled in a marriage dispute...
Appearance:
Tepet Nischa is a remarkably attractive woman, for a soldier. Her eyes and long hair are as red as heated steel, and her face is smooth. Beneath her ever-present armor, she's well-muscled but lithe. She has one lingering scar from before her Exaltation, a cut across her left ribs from a training accident. Nischa is generally very good-humored, but tends to be grim and serious on the battlefield.
Normally, Nischa is not seen out of her armor, a functional red jade breastplate with appropriate reinforcement along the arms and shoulders. This gives way into a tunic, cloak, and trousers all made out of imported Ciaroscuro silk and mildly touched by her own Essence. Her red jade daiklave, Crown of Embers, is forever at her side and frequently drawn before "negotiations" have even settled.
Nischa's anima is simple and direct, perfectly embodying her in every way. Flames whip around her arms and sword as she fights, and when her energy is expended enough to become iconic, it roars to life as a massive inferno. Fortunately, the Red-Piss Legion is well-accustomed to fighting in the heat.
Potential Plot Hooks:
- Tepet Nischa is an officer in the Vermillion, better known as the "Red-Piss Legion." This is the only legion that House Tepet currently fields, and thus it's quite overworked. Nischa is one of the only officers currently commanding troops on the Blessed Isle, so she's called away to handle everything from rebellions to mercenary action to "favors."
- Nischa was an utterly dominant force in her class at the House of Bells. A brilliant strategist and prodigy swordswoman, she topped the charts in every possible field. She left quite a few resentful rivals behind, as well as a bit of a legacy for the next few classes to pursue. She still holds at least three records in the annual wargames that are just waiting to be broken.
- For the last four years, Nischa has been in the South. Two of those were fighting pirates, yes, but the other two seem to have been lost to the mists of time. Just what was she doing down there? Does she have any grateful admirers? How many toes did she step on that are rearing for revenge? Maybe she made some new acquaintances and neglected to tell anyone about it...
