Name: Jester of the Setting Sun / Lark
Age: 17
Exaltation/Caste: Solar, Night Caste
Affiliations: None
Bio:
As someone who grew up with nothing. The nameless human who grew up alone and abandoned in the alleys of the Nexus has an appreciation for concepts such as charity, kindness and compassion. For without those virtues, he would have never made it past his infancy. Taken in by a kindly old man, the nameless child was given a name, a home and was taught the ways of thievery at a young age. From how to make oneself unseen, to running across rooftops as well as pick-pocketing and basic self defense.
Life was not easy for him, but he was rather content with his place in the world. Go out, steal some food, bring it back to the others. Rinse, repeat while occasionally going after slightly bigger game. Occasionally coming home with a fat purse of shiny trinket.
But all good things must come to an end. And it ended in a rather spectacular fashion. One day, with far too much confidence. The young thief attempted to steal from one of the Terrestrial Exalted. A normally suicidal act, but after so many successes, his pride had caused his head to inflate, thinking that even one of the Dragonblooded would be just as easy as the rest of his targets.
Needless to say, it ended horribly and all he got for his trouble was a broken wrist. Given to him by the Prince of the Earth with casual ease. Panicking, the boy fled. Ducking and dodging through alleyways, hoping to evade his divine pursuer.
For a short time, he thought he did. After running for nearly an hour without any sign of pursuit. The boy thought himself safe to return home. Only to find it a trap. All along the Dragonblooded's skill with stealth far outclassed his own. All the Prince of the Earth did was wait for the boy to return to his pack of thieves.
The result of the boy's pride was fast and brutal. With the Dragonblooded single-handedly forcing entrance and killing the boy's surrogate father with a single swift blow. And while the boy's anger and retaliation would be enough to feel all but the greatest of mortal warriors. He was nothing in the face of the of the Dragon's Chosen. So it was, him and his foster family of fellow thieving youths were chained up and shipped out of the city. No doubt to be sold as slaves somewhere far away from home.
For a normal human such an ordeal would break their spirit. Causing them to resign to their fate. But not the boy, his soul was made of sterner stuff. Throughout the entire trip, he raged and resisted, earning beatings and food deprivation for his trouble.
But still he persisted, much further that any normal person would in a similar situation. Even managing to raise the morale of the other slaves with his persistence and indomitable spirit.
Finally having enough with the rebellious teen. His Dragonblooded tormentor grabbed him and threw him into the dirt in front of the gathered prisoners. Intent on striking the young man down as a lesson for those who would go against the will of the Terrestrial Exalted. It was at that moment, destiny played its' hand.
Instead of striking down the brat where he stood. The Dragonblooded was met with a sight that should have been impossible. The young man flowing around his blow like a river around a rock. With nothing but a shit-eating grin on his face and a shining golden circle on his brow.
Appearance:
The first thing someone might notice about him is his rather shocking red hair. Sticking out like a sore thumb in a crowd if not for his uncanny ability to not be seen if he doesn't want to be. Of course once someone notices him, he is a hard face to forget without a little encouragement. With striking features and piercing eyes, like many Exalted, Jester possesses an unearthly beauty to him. Carrying himself with a permanent slouch, his face often has a small sly smile plastered across it.
He doesn't actually have a damaged eye. He just likes the way the eye patch looks on him.
Potential Plot Hooks:
-Has a habit of defacing Realm structures with crudely drawn pictures of the Scarlet Empress in rather suggestive positions.
-Can and WILL do his best to annoy, harass and outright troll Dragonblooded if the chance presents itself.
-Has a small gang of thieves set up in Nexus. He is known for performing daring heists on various targets. The fact that a Prince of the Earth is behind the thefts is still unknown.
-Looking for his Lunar mate, so he usually investigates any interesting rumours of Lunar activity.
