Hayo just smirked into his glass and sipped from it again.
Might have been that the old Tepet would have been mortified at the display of emotions, might have been that the old one wouldn’t have known what to do with himself, might have been… he would have embarrassed himself by doing something. Instead the Solar Exalted drank his tea and politely waited for her laughing stupor to subside.
In the meanwhile he pondered on what to do next. Part of his Exaltation was the fact that there was a constant rush of energy roaming through him - it pushed him on and on, to find new things to do, new things to experience.
He wondered if he could find the Bull of the North… but that thought immediately died where it was.
Part of the reason they had went to war with that figure was because of the Anathema- the Solars were forging something lasting there and the Realm… well, it could not let something like that stand. But what did Hayo care for that now?
Vengeance was sweet, but the Tepet Legions were demolished by their own ineptitude. These days he felt more kinship with that barbarian than he did with his old family.

Song slowly recovered from her gigglefest long enough to notice that her companion was being uncharacteristically quiet and thoughtful. That was honestly just as worrying as him losing his temper, but in it's own way. In the time she'd known Hayo, he had always been one for rash or sudden action over pondering, one who went with the flow rather than worrying about the future. And he looked like he was absolutely worrying about something, in his own brow-furrowed way. It was remarkably endearing.
"Hey. Where have your thoughts gone, Hayo?" Song asked with a warm smile, dipping down slightly to try and find the wayward Solar's eyes. Warmth from Song was just as odd as thoughtfullness from Hayo, but she was nothing if not willing to embrace - and embody- change, being an Exalted of the first mercurial trickster. In her own antisocial way, though, she was glad to see him in once piece, and happy to have his company.
Song stood swiftly from her chair and rounded the table, deftly refilling Hayo's tea while her long braid swayed. She considered the big lug for a moment, a hand on her hip, then smirked and actually ruffled his hair affectionately. "So. You're back in the North. What's the plan now, big guy?" She asked curiously.

Now that was something of a surprise.
He looked up with some confusion made apparent, before smiling a little bit - she was endearing in her own little way, even if she could also be a cold-blooded killing machine who ate regular mortals and their sort for lunch. But that was something that Hayo was starting to learn to accept… nothing is what it seems, at least not at first glance.
“Everywhere and nowhere, Song.” he finally replied, before taking a sip from the new tea.
Sweet Creation it was good.
“The West was alright, managed to topple a local Pirate King and free his slaves, but… I want to do more. Bigger. Better. More.”
He shook his head in confusion.
“Does that make sense?”

"You're a Solar Exalted, blessed by the Sun." Song replied plainly. "Bigger, better, and more is basically what you do. It's what you are."
She put her hand on her hip again and smirked, brushing her hair back once she'd set her tea kettle down. Song was apparently content to remain standing by his side, if only because it was the closest she'd get to being eye-level with him without him going to his knees. "Tell you what - if you figure out where you wanna go, and I'll take you there faster than any boat could." The Lunar offered, before using his massive shoulder as an elbow rest. "I feel like I owe you for setting you up with that crazy green witch. I'm, again, sorry about that."
Song pondered for a moment, glanced around her cabin, then smirked and pounded her fist into her hand as though she'd resolved something. "You know what? We should go somewhere where you can find adventure more readily than this frozen wasteland." She decided resolutely. "I've always wanted to see warmer parts of the world - you're actually better traveled than I am. Is there anyplace you've always wanted to go?" The short blonde asked with a grin. Maybe this would snap him out of his funk.

She weighed almost nothing - a deceiving notion, because in her other form… well, her height had been quite different too.
Where did he want to go? The South had been… exciting, it had only reinforced the changes that the Sun was burning into him, but it had also been sobering in a lot of ways. It had showed him that his actions needed to be tempered by understanding, by patience, by… not rushing into shet like a complete, ox-headed idiot.
It was how Mokoto had gotten killed and perhaps she wasn’t really dead, but this changed nothing for the lesson that had been learned, that by acting without thought?
People got killed. And not all those people were fate-bending Sidereals who could avoid getting killed by having their throat sliced, it was the reason why Hayo was less… a lumbering jackass running around with an axe and shouting, and more… thoughtful.
Sometimes.
“Could go somewhere where you can wear a bikini.” deadpan voice again, but a smirk tugging at his mouth.
“Then again. I hear the West has gigantic, killer birds and the sort. Might be fun.”

That one got a smirk out of her. And raised eyebrows, but mostly the smirk. She might be a miserable, weirdo hermit, but even she knew when eyes were upon her.
Song plopped herself down on Hayo's leg with little ceremony, half-sitting on his lap. "Tell you what. If you're wearing less fabric than you intend for me, I'll consider it." The compact Lunar decided resolutely. Why not? He was handsome enough - another part of being a Solar - and she'd spent a long time by herself. He seemed like he could use a bit of cheering up, anyway. Something to look forward to. And honestly, so could she.
Ugly-ass scars and all.
"The West, as I recall, is riddled with rivers and lakes. I'm sure we could find something to occupy that particular desire with little difficulty." She explained, leaning back. "And I've always wanted to visit Nexus, honestly. Perhaps we should set our destination there, and figure it out as we head there? I think I can get us there in a couple of days." The blonde explained, before wiggling her fingers and smirking. "With sorcery, of course."
Over 4k kilometers in a couple days. Sorcery is occasionally fair and balanced, but also incredibly useful.

Well, she ain’t messing around.
Hayo hadn’t been expecting her to go for it, honestly. It had been harmless back-and-forth to pass the time and make it less worrisome, which wasn’t to say that he wasn’t interested… simply didn’t consider she might be interested in something like that. And he wasn’t one of those men who thought they were not attractive or anything - or worse, who knew they were alright but whined about being unattractive.
Rather, he didn’t think the first impression he had made on her back in the day would have been a good foundation for something like that.
And while the thick-headed warrior was thinking, pondering the little Lunar already settled half in his lap and was thinking out loud about where they could be going.
“Could go for an equal amount of non-fabric.” Hayo wasn’t even sure where this was all coming from, but it felt… good. After all the things that had been happening, this was nice… and simple, there wasn’t anything complicated here.
“I have been in Nexus once… was a different life, altogether. I might not have been a Dragon-Blooded, but my father wanted me to know something about the world anyway.”
Maybe so he wouldn’t be completely useless.
“Nexus sounds good to me.”

"Now you're just splitting hairs, and you don't strike me as the sort of man to do so unless he thinks he can get an advantage." Song declared loudly, folding her arms. "Typical of your birthing. I'm not so easily fooled, Hayo." Whether or not he actually _had_ an angle, didn't matter. What did was that he knew that she was looking out for it. Or something. It was more or less her version of teasing. She leaned back slightly, craning her head back to smirk up at the Solar, before standing up.
"We can set out tomorrow. I'll pack things. You can pack things. We'll hit Icehome for supplies and get the cabin secured for my absence." Song listed, counting off on her fingers each thing that had to be done, with her back to Hayo. Song then glanced over her shoulder and gave Hayo a cocky little grin. "...I'm actually looking forward to this!" She admitted brightly. He seemed slightly cheered, which was nice. And they had a destination. Wanderlust was an integral part of being a Lunar, one that Song had been long neglecting and feeling the urge to fufill. Now she'd be able to scratch that itch.
She had her sights set on something. If he wasn't taking the reigns, Hayo would just have to struggle to keep up.
With a confident strut and a renewed bounce to her step, Song left Hayo sitting at the table. "Be a darling and clean up the tea, would you?" She called over her shoulder, along with a small wave. She had, after all, prepared the stuff. Normally, she'd remind Hayo that he could bed down on the furs in the middle of the room of her small cabin - a warm, serviceable bed - but he likely already knew that by now. He had stayed there for almost a month. And with that, she was in her private chambers to rest until morning, the door left cracked behind her.

His gaze did not leave her back until she disappeared into her own chambers.
If there was one thing that Hayo wasn’t it was lazy, so he immediately set off to do his part in the household by doing the dishes - something that might have taken a while had he been a mortal… but he was the Chosen of the Sun, Immortal Aspect of Glory and Shimmering Light. If the Solar wished, he could fight for an entire day without his sword growing heavy.
Some dishes would not be a problem for him.
At least that was the general idea, until he passed her door. That was when a few realization settled in, most of which led him to putting down the dishes he had been balancing on the counter.
Realizations that made him look at the door, before shrugging and slipping through the cracked opening into her room.
You only lived once.

It was a lazy morning. Even the snowflakes didn't seem to want to fall with any sort of resolve, so why should Forest-Crushing Song trouble herself with haste? Even with company, she would live as she preferred to do - at her own leisure. After a large breakfast, as there was no sense leaving food around to go to spoil in her absence, Song left a couple of notes for the few souls capable of entering the heart of her territory without her, and made sure to lock the door. Then came the fun part, something that Hayo had only enjoyed once. Song wasn't much of a woodworker, but like many of her lazy habits, she'd put enough work into it to create passable facsimiles of skill - snowboards happened to be the one thing she could make well, and they were the easiest way of getting down the mountain and across the frozen canal into Icehome, where she had once left a freshly-exalted Solar in the care of a dubiously trustworthy Sidereal.
It never stopped being exhilarating, in her opinion.
When they dismounted near the low stone walls of the slapshod city, airships travelling to and from the Hslanti League circling overhead, Song gave a short laugh and jogged up the path into the city while pulling her braid from the protective restraint of her green woolen cape. "Bet you missed that part, eh?" She teased her companion with a grin, turning only enough to shoot him a grin, her oak-y snowboard under her arm.
"Trust you've got enough coin to get what you need for a trip to Nexus, oh pillager-of-pirate-dens." The Lunar quipped once her boots found the aged and smooth stone of Icehome's market district. Not like they were going to be airborne for a day or two, so hopefully he'd think ahead and get a scarf or something. Or he wouldn't, glorious sun etc etc. "I'm going to go get some necessities of my own, leave messages where they need to be. Meet on the south end of town in an hour? By the green flags."
